Short version: Samstemd stores everything locally on your device. No clouds. No accounts. No analytics. No third parties. No network calls. Delete the app and the data goes with it.

Who we are

What we store on your device

When you use Samstemd, the app stores the following data exclusively in a local database on your iPhone or iPad:

Medication names and doses you enter
Timestamps of each dose you log
Mood and behaviour tags you select
Off-days you mark
Blood test values you enter manually (optional)

What we never do

No cloud storage or external servers. Your database lives only on your device.
No account or registration. You never need to log in.
No analytics, tracking, or telemetry. We have no idea how often you open the app.
No data sharing with third parties. No ad networks, no analytics services, no one.
No network requests at all. Samstemd makes zero HTTP calls from your device.

AI observations

Samstemd uses Apple's Foundation Models framework to generate short observations from your own data. The model runs entirely on your device — nothing is sent to Apple, to us, or to anyone else. You can turn AI observations off at any time in settings.

HealthKit integration

With your consent, Samstemd can read and write data in Apple's Health app — medications, doses, sleep, heart rate, workouts. This is a direct, local sync between apps on your device. Data never travels via our servers (we have none). You can revoke HealthKit access any time via Health app → Data Access.

Export, access, and deletion

You can export a complete copy of your data as JSON and CSV any time from Settings → Export data. Delete everything via Settings → Delete all data, or simply uninstall the app. Under GDPR Articles 15–20 you can also request access and rectification via samstemd@metapol.no; but since we store no data about you, there is nothing beyond what is already on your device for us to show you.

Legal basis for processing

We are not the data controller for your health data — you are. You use Samstemd as a local tool, comparable to a notebook on your phone. Metapol AS acts as a software provider, not a data processor. If you nevertheless consider a controller relationship to exist, the legal basis is consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you give in the app's consent flow and may withdraw at any time.

Medical disclaimer

Samstemd is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before changing your medication.

Children

Samstemd is not directed at children under 13 and does not actively collect information about users in that age group.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how the app handles data, we will update this page and show a consent dialog in the app on next launch. The version number at the top of this page reflects the current revision.
